Dates and Venues

The league will consist of 6 races. Races take place on a Sunday Race 3 at Sledmere will start at 10:30am the other races in the series will start at 10.00am 

Race 1 Sunday 12th October 2025 - Bishop Wilton hosted by Pocklington Runners and Yorkshire Wolds Runners

Race 2 Sunday 9th November 2025 - Welton hosted by Goole Viking Striders and Selby Striders 

Race 3 Sunday 4th January 2026 - Sledmere hosted by Driffield Striders

Race 4 Sunday 8th February 2026 - Drewton hosted by Beverley AC and City of Hull AC

Race 5 Sunday 15th February 2026 - Dalby hosted by Pickering RC and Scarborough AC 

Race 6 Sunday 8th March 2026 - Sewerby with buffet & presentations hosted by Bridlington RR and East Hull Harriers 


This season we will also provide a reserve race venue and confirmed date for this now. If one of the races needs to be cancelled then the reserve race and date will be used as a replacement. As we have booked the reserve venue and have the relevant permissions, a social run will take place from there on that date if it is not needed as a replacement race. 


Replacement Race or Social Run Sunday 1st March 2026 - Wetwang hosted by Yorkshire Wolds Runners and host of whichever race is cancelled.

East Yorkshire Cross Country League Round 2 at Welton

25 Club Members competed in the East Yorkshire Cross Country League Round 2 over a 6.5-mile course at and around the East Yorkshire village of Welton.

Jackson Smith made a successful return to cross-country action when finishing up in 4th place overall of 365 and headed the club’s men’s team that finished in 3rd place of 11 teams. He was followed by Daniel Bateson and Paul Lawton who were 7th and 12th overall. The team was completed by men’s overall scorers Matthew Heaton 38th, Glyn Hewitt 43rd, Simon Burnley 61st.

The Club’s Women were led by Anna Giddings who was 9th Female Overall of 154. She was followed by Nicola Kidd 13th and 2nd Over-40, Sue Haslam 27th and 1st Over-70. Fay Hethershaw completed the Scoring Team of 4 which finished 6th of 11, with 30th and 3rd Over-50

Well done to all 29 SAC runners who competed in the first EYXC race of the series. The male team finished 5th overall and the female team an impressive 2nd (their best result in years!)
